Rafael Nadal squeezed into the Australian Open last 16 after the Spaniard was made to stretch by Russia’s Karen Khachanov in their third round clash on Friday.

Nadal took a comfortable 6-3, 6-2 lead before suffering a huge dip as Khachanov rallied back to take the third set 6-3.

Nadal, however, was quick to put all concerns to rest as he bounced back to take an early break in the fourth set. He then proceeded to brush aside the Russian with a 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 win to reach the fourth round at Melbourne Park for the 15th time in his career.
